MELBOURNE: Defending champion and world number one Victoria Azarenka of Belarus beat Li Na of China in the final of the Australian Open women’s event to win the championship.
The world No1 beat popular sixth seed Li Na, who twice needed ankle treatment, 4-6 6-4 6-3 in 160 minutes.
Victoria Azarenka came back strongly to win the last two sets 6-4 6-3 after losing the first set 4-6.
