MUMBAI: West Indies women beat SriLanka women by 209 runs in a group A match at the Middle Income Group Ground in Mumbai.
Winning the toss and putting WI in to bat turned out to be the wrong decision as WI reached a mammoth 368 for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs with the help of a brilliant 171 by SR Taylor laced with 18 boundaries and 2 sixes. She was well supported by Kyshona A Knight (44), DJS Dottin (50) and MR Aguilleira (44no).
Replying to this huge total, maintaining the required runrate proved too much for the SL women and they crumbled to 159 all out in 40 overs.
SL Quintyne with 3/32 was the pick of the WI bowlers.
SR Taylor was later declared the player of the match.
